Sales jumped by 18 percent to £56.6 million (€63.7m-$69.8m) in 2018 at Sweaty Betty, but the British fitness apparel brand incurred a pre-tax loss of £710,753 (€799,414-$876,559), compared with a profit of £1.3 million in 2017. The loss was attributed to the investments in new physical stores and digital operations. Reportedly, Sweaty Betty is about to open its first Asian store at an undisclosed location. The brand currently has about 60 stores in the U.K. and the U.S., plus a very active web shop that generates about 40 percent of the turnover.
