Saysh, the lifestyle brand founded in 2021 by Olympian Allyson Felix and her brother Wes, is introducing “The Felix Runner,” a new women’s sneaker and the brand’s first performance running shoe. While the Saysh One was primarily designed for walking and light workouts, the new Felix Runner is also meant as a performance shoe, thereby marking the brand’s arrival in the competitive women’s running shoe market.
According to an exclusive report and interview by Footwear News, Felix trained in the new Felix Runner for over a year prior to its launch. The shoe features a one-piece molded heel, toe reinforcement on the upper and a flexible lacing mechanism.
As previously reported by SGI Europe, Saysh raised $8 million in June 2022 in a Series A funding round led by consumer-focused fund IRIS and Gap Inc.’s Athleta brand, along with Redpoint Ventures and Springbank Collective.
Felix, now 37 and a retired athlete, is the most decorated athlete, male or female, in World Athletics Championships history.
