Schuh & Sport Mücke, the big German shoe and sporting goods retail chain that was acquired by ANWR in May 2014, will not be converted to a public limited company. ANWR is now proposing to its general assembly, due to be held in Rotterdam on June 20, to keep it as a private company under its ownership. Affiliated members of the ANWR Group had until April 22 the chance to send non-binding declarations of intent for the purchase of shares in Schuh & Sport Mücke, which has 11 stores, three outlets and recorded a turnover of €112.2 million in 2015. The retail members of the ANWR Group agreed to start the process for the establishment of a new company that would own and operate the Mücke chain by this summer, and ANWR's members were given the possibility to acquire shares in the chain from the group, reducing its stake to 25.1 percent. However, not enough members tendered for shares to reach the desired equity level.
