According to Scottish Golf’s Annual Review 2021, released at the governing body’s general assembly on March 6, the total playing membership of adults and juniors in Scotland’s affiliated golf clubs increased by 7.3 percent in 2021. The increase took the total to 207,676, including 182,167 males and 25,509 females. Membership grew for the second consecutive year, highlighting the popularity of golf in Scotland despite the two volatile and unpredictable years of the coronavirus pandemic. Subscriptions income grew by 5 percent on pre-pandemic levels, the report shows. Member subscriptions account for 66 percent of Scottish Golf’s income. In digital, the Scottish Golf app saw a 78 percent rise in registered users in 2021.
