Seafolly, the Australian swimwear and beach lifestyle brand, has announced the appointment of Paul Kotrba as its new chief executive. Prior to joining Seafolly, Kotrba spent more than 15 years in New York City at Donna Karan and DKNY. Anthony Halas, who has led Seafolly since 1998, will remain as a non-executive director and shareholder. The Seafolly brand was founded in 1975 by Peter and Yvonne Halas. Today the brand is owned by L Catterton Asia, a private equity group, which is its majority shareholder. Seafolly is sold in more than 2,700 shops across 41 countries through its own channels as well as retailers and major e-commerce sites. The brand also operates Miléa, another premium swimwear and apparel resort brand, and a chain of multibrand swimwear shops under the Sunburn banner.
