Sensoria unveiled a new pressure sensing running shoe at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas, the annual trade show on new products and technologies in the consumer electronics industry, which took place this year on Jan. 9-12. The shoe, which has been developed for Vivobarefoot, features a new microelectronic component designed specifically for sensor-connected footwear, called Sensoria Core technology. The microelectronic component, which is fitted into the shoe, connects to four pressure sensors in the plantar area. This technology can detect and measure in real-time pace, speed, cadence, GPS track, foot landing technique, time on the ground, impact score and eventually, asymmetry and toe engagement, Sensoria said. These data can be used to develop a dedicated training scheme to improve the wearer's running style.
