Seth Wescott, a 39-year-old American pro snowboard rider who has collected many medals, has made an unspecified investment in Winterstick Snowboards as the American company plans to set up its first workshop to make customized snowboards. The company will transform an old barn on the western side of Sugarloaf Mountain, in the Carrabassett Valley of Maine, into a workshop powered by local lumber and rooftop solar panels, which will also provide direct access to the West Mountain chairlift. Wescott, who is involved in many other activities in the Sugarloaf area of Maine, began working last year together with Winterstick on a signature snowboard that ran successful tests during the 2014/15 season.
