Shimano has announced plans to open a new distribution center near the French city of Lyon to enhance its service to French and Italian customers. It will be Shimano's third European distribution center, along with Nunspeet in the Netherlands and Pozna? in Poland. For the Turkish market, the company operates a separate distribution warehouse in Istanbul. In the creation of the new shipping and logistics base near Lyon, Shimano will work in partnership with XPO Logistics, a global supply chain solutions company. The new distribution center is expected to be operational from January 2017.
