Simon Blazeby, the 33-year-old English manager who has been running the Spanish Sports Unlimited show in Valencia, is switching to a new function as group exhibition director of Reed Sunaidi Exhibition, the Saudi Arabian unit of Reed Exhibitions. In that function, he will be running five fairs in different sectors and look at the possibility of organizing a sporting goods show for the region. Blazeby will continue to be involved with Sports Unlimited through a planned new international visitor program, designed to attract buyers from the Middle East and Africa to the show in Valencia. As reported in the previous issue, Feria Valencia is negotiating to take over full ownership of Sports Unlimited. The trade show is currently still a joint venture between Feria Valencia and Reed Exhibitions, which has decided to close down its Iberian subsidiary. Sports Unlimited will be run by Alberto Alonso, who has been a vice president of Reed Exhibitions Iberia.
