Skiset, the French-based ski rental company, has developed an online foot scanning tool, Scanfeet, which should make it easier for customers to book ski boots precisely adjusted to the size and shape of their feet. Scanfeet uses 3D images of the customer's feet to analyze five key points about the person's foot, which may be accessed by ski rental stations around the network. About 50 to 60 Skiset stores have been equipped with BootDoc 3D scanners from Wintersteiger for the upcoming winter season, 30 to 35 of them in France, and 20 to 25 in Switzerland, Austria, Italy and Andorra. The company further announced that it was spreading its network from ski resorts to cities. It has fresh partners in Paris, Marseille, Bordeaux, Lyon and a few more French cities, as well as Geneva in Switzerland. Thirteen city stores have joined and Skiset estimates the French potential at 25 stores. Customers will be able to get their feet scanned and to book their rental boots on the spot or on a website that is available in 13 languages, including Mandarin. The network boasts 390 stores for the upcoming season in France, and 930 stores in all markets.
