Speedo has gained the approval of Fina, the world swimming federation, for its latest flagship product, the Fastskin³. It is described as the latest and most advanced version of Speedo's revolutionary product, which caused lengthy discussion among top athletes, their suppliers and regulatory authorities, leading to a change in Fina's regulations in January 2010. A spokesman for Speedo said the company doesn't want to comment on the features of the Fastskin³ until its official launch, planned to take place in London on Nov. 30, where it will be worn by Michael Phelps and other sponsored swimming stars. Other similar launch events are going to take place later on at other locations. A full range of products using the new technology will go on sale at speedo.com on Dec. 1. Meanwhile, Speedo is inviting three passionate swimmers to participate in the VIP launch event in London through a contest on Facebook. The prize will include two nights in a hotel, dinner, a Fastskin³ suit and a voucher for £500 (€585-$790) worth of purchases at Speedo's flagship store in Covent Garden.
