Over the past 50 years, Sport 2000 Austria has developed from a small garage with ten retailers to Austria’s largest sports retailer community with currently 232 retailers. Sport 2000 Austria employs around 3,450 people and will achieve a projected turnover of 700 million euros in its anniversary year (estimate based on the calendar year 2022). At a joint celebration at the Scalaria on Lake Wolfgang, retailers, employees, long-standing partners and companions celebrated the success story. More than 350 guests, including Upper Austrian governor Thomas Stelzer, the president of the Austrian Trade Association Dr. Stephan Mayer-Heinisch and CEO of Sport 2000 International Margit Gosau, congratulated Sport 2000 Austria on its anniversary. “The Sport 2000 community thrives on people and strong togetherness. It is great to experience how retailers, employees and partners meet, celebrate together and have a good time together,” said Dr. Holger Schwarting, CEO of Sport 2000 Austria.
