Sport 2000 France is launching a new winter sports banner, called Ski Way, for sporting goods retailers in mountain regions. The buying group hopes to convert at least 40 stores in France and ten in Andorra during the current Fall/Winter season, but the concept may also be adopted elsewhere in Europe at a later stage. Currently Sport 2000 France has 200 members located in ski resorts, but rather than convert them all to Ski Way, it hopes that other retailers will pick up the new banner. The format of the new stores is said to be more flexible than that of Sport 2000, featuring a dedicated website and offering the possibility of ski rentals and contacts with tour operators.
