Sport 2000, the French purchasing and marketing group, will sponsor the French Women’s Handball team for the next three years. The decision takes place in anticipation of the 2007 World Women’s Handball Championship, taking place in France next Dec. 2-16 and the 2008 Olympic Games in has recently sought to emphasize its position in the women’s wear market through a campaign around sports and fashion. The group is already a sponsor of several French first and second-division football clubs, the French Athletics Federation, the French Rugby Federation and the French Stadium in Paris.
