On April 4, 2024, the Absolute Run Runnercoach opened in Hoofddorp (Netherlands) after a redesign of the original running school. The retailer network Sport 2000 and long-standing partner Dennis van Bakel, who has been operating his very successful running school for years, realized the project

Owner van Bakel said of the Absolute Run concept: “We are all very convinced of it here. In close cooperation, we can benefit enormously from the running expertise of our partner Sport 2000.” Absolute Run Runnercoach has increased the running area from 80 to over 200 square meters in order to bring the added value that will set van Bakel’s store apart from the market closer to the end customer. The team in Hoofddorp offers weekly community runs, running courses and individual coaching sessions.

Van Bakel explained: “With my company Absolute Run Runnercoach, I hope to get as many people as possible excited about running. Regardless of what type of runner comes to us as a customer. Anyone can come to us for personal running advice and everything that goes with it.”

A 20-meter-long running track is integrated into the store, where customers can test their running in detail. Technical support is also provided by a high-speed camera and the option of a 3D scan of the feet. With Adidas, Asics, Hoka, Brooks, New Balance and Saucony, Runnercoach will present all major running brands and thus offer the largest specialized shoe and textile range in the region.

“Further openings or conversions are planned this year, including in Aschaffenburg and Düsseldorf [in Germany]. The aim is to gain a further 20 retail partners for the specialist concept in Europe by 2025,” commented Jörg Seifert, Head of Running at Sport 2000.
