Sport Chalet, a big American sporting goods retail chain, is closing all its 47 physical stores and its online shop, but Olivier Leclercq, a member of the family that owns 42 percent of Decathlon, is not going to be affected. Leclercq had made an unspecified personal investment in Sport Chalet in 2013, as we reported at the time, but his shares were then bought by the Vestis Retail Group in the summer of 2014 for about $17 million, after many years of losses. Vestis also owns two other chains, Eastern Mountain Sports and Bob's Stores, which it has put under bankruptcy proceedings. More in the American edition of SGI.
