Sportrade, an e-commerce platform for trading in new and used sports products among vendors, retailers and consumers based in Berlin, filed for insolvency last Feb. 6 in the Charlottenburg district court. Björn Gehde has been appointed by the court as receiver, but the business is said to be running as before. Sportrade recently had 195,000 items offered by 185 retailers according to the Textilwirtschaft magazine. A new round of financing last December was not sufficient to prevent the insolvency because part of the pledged equity was not given in the end. One of the investors was Campanisto, a German crowd-sourcing platform.
