Sports Direct International (SDI) is closing down four out of its nine concessions in Debenhams department stores, Bloomberg reported last week, but the company said this was due to overlaps with current or future flagship stores, rather than any underlying issues with the concessions. SDI owns a stake of 21.01 percent in Debenhams, which it has described as an opportunity for a strategic partnership. The closures include two concessions in Debenhams' main store on Oxford Street. SDI told Bloomberg that it remained committed to its partnership with Debenhams.
