Sportscheck, the leading integrated sports retail chain in Germany, achieved a gross turnover of about €394 million for the fiscal year ended in February, down by just 3.4 percent compared with its record sales in the previous year. The company said that it still managed to lift its operating profit. Sportscheck carried out heavy investments in store openings and refurbishments in the course of last year, and the process will continue this year. It will open the first of its smaller stores on 1,200 square meters in Reutlingen in June, with a new flagship store of 10,000 square meters in the center of Munich to follow in October.
