Head NV has decided to handle sportswear as a separate division within Head NV, starting from Jan. 2012. Next to the existing divisions - winter sports, racquet sports and diving - sportswear will be established as an independent division of Head NV.

Klaus Thurner will be responsible for the company's new division as executive vice president, starting from the same date. Next to the development of the current summer and winter collections, his task is to build up a successful management team for the future. The sportswear division will be based in London. Thurner will report directly to the chief executive officer Johan Eliasch.

Thurner has been working since 1999 for Head. As division manager, he was responsible for developing its business areas snowboards, boots and bindings, as well as protection equipment. The development of an independent logo for snowboard and freestyle ski was directed by him. Until 1999, Thurner worked for the Momentum and gained experience in the apparel sector.

Andreas Leitner, who has been working for Head's sportswear segment in Kennelbach, Austria, since March 2011, will be responsible for sourcing and product development together with an amplified team of employees. He will also move to London before the start of the next year.

The product and market competence shall be supported by an experienced product manager for the summer and winter collections of Head sportswear.
