Signa Sports United N.V. (SSU), an NYSE-listed sports e-commerce company with businesses in cycling, tennis, outdoor and team sports, announced the appointment of Anthonie Anbeek to its board of directors, effective April 1, 2024. Anbeek, an experienced consumer products and cycling executive who most recently served as CEO of bicycle manufacturer Accell Group, is expected to bring a wealth of leadership and strategic insight to support SSU’s growth strategy.
During his tenure at Accell Group, Anbeek led the company through a critical growth period, transforming it into the European market leader for e-bikes. He also demonstrated leadership during the pandemic disruptions that culminated in the sale of the company in a take-private transaction to a private equity firm. His strategic insights into the bicycle industry, experience in the capital markets and leadership skills will complement the capabilities of SSU’s existing Board of Directors and provide valuable guidance to management in what continues to be a challenging environment.
