Stéphane Solinski has been appointed general manager of Sport 2000 France after the departure of Frédéric Dekeyser, who led the buying group's operational and financial restructuring plan in the last two years. The 44-year-old Solinski started his career in marketing functions in the car industry, notably at Renault. In 2002 he switched to the retail business, working for seven years at Opticiens Atol, a group of eyewear retailers, and then at Audio 2000, a banner belonging to Optic 2000 and focusing on hearing aids. Solinksi has thus built up several years of experience in dealing with the members of buying groups, which will come in useful at Sport 2000 France. At the same time, Nathalie Caron, head of marketing at Reebok in France since 2007, has been appointed Sport 2000's director of marketing and communication. Sport 2000's management said that it was on track with its strategic plan and still intended to buy out Activa Capital's stake in the group.
