In a global alignment strategy, the sports business for Sumitomo Rubber Industries (SRI) will be affiliated under the Dunlop brand umbrella. Roger Cleveland Golf Company, which is SRI’s North American sales company, currently operating as Srixon/Cleveland Golf/XXIO, will now be doing business as Dunlop Sports Americas. Based in Kobe, Japan, and part of the Sumitomo Group, SRI manufactures a wide range of rubber-based products, including automobile tires, golf balls and tennis balls. The alignment of golf and racket sports branding in North America is meant to spotlight the global scope of Dunlop’s business. Dunlop Sports Americas is also a licensed exclusive distributor of Asics golf footwear.
