Super Retail Group of Australia has completed the acquisition of the retail sporting goods retail division of Archer Capital, consisting of 90 Rebel Sport stores, 36 Amart shops and two Performance Sports doors. The acquisition price of 610 million Australian dollars (€458.4m-$632.3m) compares with the total turnover of these stores, which reached A$603 million (€453.1m-$625.1m) in the most recent financial year, generating Ebitda of A$77 million (€57.9m-$79.8m). Following the takeover, a 15-year veteran of the Australian retail sector who ran Rebel Sport in the past, Erica Berchtold, becomes managing director of sports retailing for Supr Retail Group. John Joyce, who led Rebel Sport in the last four years, leaves the group. The new owners plan to expand the Rebel Sport total network from 128 to 185 stores and are looking for synergies with other stores with Super Retail Group such as BCF, Goldcross Cycling and Ray's Outdoor.
