Designer and knitwear expert Rachel Sunderland has received £96,208 (€112,207) in compensation from her former employer in the U.K., Superdry, after winning a claim for unfair dismissal and age discrimination. The company had refused to promote her because it thought she was “too old to quit.” She was reportedly considered a “low flight risk” by managers. Sunderland was repeatedly passed over for promotions in favor of colleagues with less experience until she was forced to resign in 2020.
