Sustainability, ethics and human rights in sports are the topics of this year's World Sports Forum, organized by the World Federation of the Sporting Goods Industry on Jan. 22 in Munich. The speakers include Shaun McCarthy, former chair of the Commission for a Sustainable London 2012, and Federico Addiecchi, Fifa's head of sustainability. John Morrison, executive director of the Institute for Human Rights and Business, is to discuss the societal impact of mega sports events. Sylvia Schenk, head of the working group for corruption in sports at Transparency International, will address the lack of transparency in international sports organizations, and she will speak about Sport and Rights Alliance, a partnership between non-governmental organizations. The World Sports Forum has become established as an opportunity for stakeholders in the sporting goods industry to take in the bigger picture, with topical presentations before the start of Ispo Munich.
