Nicolas Holtzmeyer, new head of brand for Suunto

Nicolas Holtzmeyer was appointed head of brand of Suunto on Dec. 1, 2022, moving to the company’s headquarters in Vantaa, Finland. In his new role, he is responsible for Suunto’s global brand presence. His focus will be on building brand awareness and positioning the brand in the outdoor and sports watch market. An important role will be the creative conception and realization of product campaigns as well as the global strategy for PR, social media and the athlete team and collaborations with other brands. Holtzmeyer has led Suunto’s marketing in German-speaking countries for the past four years, most recently serving as team leader marketing for the Alps and Nordic regions.

Johannes Überbacher

Holtzmeyer’s previous role as marketing manager for the German-speaking regions will be taken over by Johannes Überbacher on March 1. In his new role, Überbacher will play a key role in building the brand and activating key marketing initiatives with select retail, e-tail and e-commerce customers. Based in Innsbruck, Austria, he works with global as well as local teams and contributes with his expertise to formulate local concepts. Überbacher started in 2018 in digital marketing at Amer Sports Austria for the brands Suunto, Atomic, Wilson and Salomon. In his last role as global marketing specialist trail running, he worked for Salomon at the company’s headquarters in Annecy, France.

Amer Sports sold its Finnish brand Suunto to the Chinese technology company Liesheng in early 2022.
