The 2011 Surfersvillage Awards have been created to honor creative and technical talent in the media involving the surfing industry. The categories include Journalist of the Year, Photographer of the Year, Film/Video Producer of the Year, Social Media Blog of the Year, Web-documentary of the Year, Surf Event Webcast of the Year and Surfer of the Year. Online voting will select the best webcast and surfer; the others will be chosen by a group of surf-industry executives and marketers, editors, photographers, filmmakers and new-media experts.
