The 2013 Vans Triple Crown of Surfing (VCTS) set a record for the largest audience to witness an action sports event, with more than 3.5 million people in a total of two million hours of webcast viewing. In addition, the Billabong Pipe Masters, the final stop of the specialty series of professional surfing events, webcast globally from Oahu's Banzai Pipeline on Dec. 15, set a one-day surfing webcast record with more than one million viewers generating more than 1.1 streams and 596,000 hours of streaming. Viewers got a particularly fulfilling online surfing experience through the use of multiple camera angles, looking also into the tubes from the water, along with hi-definition super-slow-motion effects, instant replay, aerial views and interactivity with show hosts.
