The 4th edition of World Snow Day, which took place on Jan. 18 this year, was the largest to date, with more than 590.000 participants experiencing snow at a record 645 events in 45 countries. The figures of the event have just been released by the International Ski Federation (FIS) in its final report on the event. Children and families enjoyed free or discounted ski and snowboard lessons, ski equipment, lift passes, and also races, prizes and concerts. Member companies of the European Federation of the Sporting Goods Industry (FESI), a partner of World Snow Day, donated more than 300 pairs of junior skis and boots to children attending various events in Germany, Austria, and Italy. Other partners of World Snow Day include Audi, Sanetta, Eurosport, the European Broadcasting Union (EBU), Infront Sports & Media, The World Federation of the Sporting Goods Industry (WFSGI), and Best of the Alps. The 5th edition is scheduled for Jan. 17, 2016.
