The Adidas Group plans to open more than 2,500 single-brand stores in the lower-tier cities of China over the next few years, expanding coverage to more than 1,400 cities in the country. The plan was mentioned in a report in the China Daily newspaper quoting Colin Currie, managing director of the group in China. Commenting on the 38 percent increase in the group's revenues in China during the first half of this year, he cited factors such as focusing on productivity at the retail level, forming a new management team in the country and introducing new inventory management processes.
