The America's Cup Event Authority has just introduced Puma as the official sportswear partner of the 34th America's Cup, which kicked off in Cascais, Portugal, this past weekend. In this capacity, the brand is providing the sailing performance gear and other clothing for the management and the personnel of the organization. It is also acting as the exclusive licensee for sportswear related to the event and as the operator of the official online and pop-up fan shops in the ports that will host the races. Puma has also won the selection process to become the official sportswear and technical supplier of Oracle Racing, the U.S. team and defender at the 34th America's Cup. It is providing performance, training and chill-out apparel and footwear for the team, and here again, it has developed fanwear that will be available for purchase during in-port activities and online. Continuing its involvement in sailing events, which began in 2008, Puma indicates that its association with the America's Cup is logical because of the continued reinvention of the Cup, featuring this time new boat designs, filming techniques and television graphics. The company points out that the 34th America's Cup will also conduct a major awareness campaign for the preservation and restoration of the ocean's health, in line with Puma's efforts in the area of sustainability. America's Cup and Oracle Racing sportswear produced by Puma will be made from sustainable fabrics.
