The Asian Golf Industry Federation underlined the economic potential of golf courses and tourism as it outlined the program of the fourth India Golf Expo (IGE). A curtain-raiser was held earlier this month under the aegis of the Indian Golf Industry Association (IGIA) for the Expo to be held on 15 and 16 April at the DLF Club 5 in Gurgaon, Haryana, near New Delhi. The event will include a symposium and an exhibition for golf products and services. The IGIA and the Indian Golf Union will also conduct a turf care seminar and an instructors' conference in association with the National Golf Academy of India. The Asian Golf Industry Federation said that around 20 smaller golf projects were underway in India and another 20 large projects were likely to be created in the next five years, but this was still a fraction of the size of the golf course industry in Asian countries such as Malaysia and Thailand, among others.
