The Australian Competition and Consumer Commission has issued a fine of 350,000 Australian dollars (€244,909-$306,204) against Reebok, charging the brand with false and misleading representations about the benefits of its EasyTone range of shoes. It has also ordered the brand to refund customers A$35 (€24.49-$30.64) for each pair of EasyTone shoes they purchased between September 2011 and February 2013, establishing a hotline to collect their claims. The Australian body disputed Reebok's claim that its shoes boost the muscle tone of foot calves, thighs and buttocks more than traditional walking shoes.
