The Berlin Fashion Week, which took place on Jan. 19-21, was again a successful platform for retailers and manufacturers to meet and discover the new autumn/winter 2016/17 collections. Bright, the leading European trade show for streetwear, sneakers and skateboarding, took place for the first time under the ownership of the Premium Group, which acquired the show last July. Bright was held for the second time at Arena Berlin, the same location where Seek, the young fashion fair of Premium, took place simultaneously. More than 250 brands presented their new collections on an exhibition space of 2,600 square meters. The move to a new venue and the synergy with Seek helped boost the number of visitors at Bright by 25 percent last summer and once again by 30 percent this winter, with international visitors making up 50 percent of the total attendance. The show is still organized by Marco Aslim and Thomas Martini, who sold their shares to Premium but continue to work as managing directors of the show. Exhibiting brands included Hub, Converse, Le Coq Sportif, Fila and DC Shoes. Bright introduced a new indoor skate area, which hosted various video premieres in a competition sponsored by Element. The summer edition will take place on June 28-30, once again at Arena Berlin, together with Seek.
