Recent data from Strava have revealed that Gen-Z women (those aged 18-29) in the U.K. dedicate 11 percent more hours to physical activity than men in the same age group. When it specifically comes to running, which proves to be one of the favorite activities for this age group, women spend 12 percent more time running than men. British Gen Z women have emerged as the only group globally to be more active than men. On average, the global data from Strava’s community of over 100 million active people show that women (all age groups) dedicate 15 percent less time to being active than men. That figure is lower in the U.K., where women average 6 percent less active time than men. The disparity is starker in other European countries. Women in Spain average 29 percent less time to physical activity than men, while women in France average 25 percent less, and women in Germany 16 percent less. Finally, walking has emerged as another popular activity among women, who are 60 percent more likely than men to upload a walk to Strava.
