The entire board of Intersport International Corporation was confirmed for another three years at the general meeting of the retail organization in Oslo. Klaus Jost, the 50-year-old general manager of Intersport Deutschland, remains chairman of IIC's supervisory board. The vice presidents are still Jussi Mikkola from Finland, François Bariaud from France, Marco Giunta from Italy and Mikael Kold from Denmark. The assembly was hosted by Gresvig, which runs both the G-Sport and Intersport banners in Norway. Apart from the board elections, Intersport managers discussed strategic priorities for the buying group, such as its planned expansion in Asia, with about 100 guests from all the 40 national organizations affiliated with IIC. Franz Julen, chief executive of IIC, said he wanted Intersport to play a leading role in most of the countries in the Asia-Pacific region within eight to 10 years. Clear new goals were set at the meeting for agreement on product ranges, joint purchasing and joint marketing action.
