The extension of the present European anti-dumping duties on bicycles imported from China was backed by a majority of the governments represented at a recent meeting of the anti-dumping committee of the European Commission, according to a report in Bike Europe. The Commission has apparently proposed that they should be continued for five more years, as requested by the European Bicycle Manufacturers' Association, instead of three years. The final vote will have to be taken by the European Council, to be published in the Official Journal in October.
