The global market for ski hardware went up in the 12 months ended in March 2012 thanks to a high rise in preorders from North American, Russian and Asian distributors, according to the annual Ski Market Study compiled by Fesi, the European sporting goods industry federation. These increases offset disappointing orders and reorders by retailers in Italy and other parts of Europe as well as from retailers in North America later in the selling season, due to poor snow conditions. The results of the study are shared among the members of Fesi's Ski Committee comprising Dalbello, Elan, Fischer, Marker, Völkl, and the Amer, Head, Rossignol and Tecnica groups.
