The Greek Fourlis Group reports improved results for its retail operations under the Intersport and The Athlete's Foot in five countries. Their sales increased by 5.6 percent to €129.2 million last year, and they generated slightly improved operating earnings before amortization (Ebitda) of €10.93 million. Fourlis currently operates 106 Intersport stores in the region, three more than a year ago, including 47 in Greece, 28 in Romania, five in Bulgaria, 22 in Turkey and four in Cyprus. It also has four TAF stores in Greece and two in Turkey. The group, which is also the Greek franchisee of Ikea and New Look, increased Ebitda by 25.9 percent to €32.6 million on relatively flat consolidated sales of €414.4 million. It turned around to a net profit of €253,000 from a loss of €11.5 million.
