The House of Sport, which was established in September with eleven organizations in the sport and active leisure sector, has been enlarged with the addition of another six partners. The House of Sport encompasses associations and other entities representing various facets of the sports and outdoor industry – some of them actually located at the House of Sport in Brussels. The point is to facilitate the overall development of the European sport sector through cross-sectoral cooperation and by raising awareness of the benefits of sports and physical activity. The six partners who joined the founders are: the European Network of Academic Sports Services; FIM Europe, a continental union that groups together 47 national federations and six regional motorcycling associations, working in conjunction with the International Motorcycling Federation; the Ju-Jitsu International Federation (JJIF); the European Confederation of Outdoor Employers (EC-OE), an overarching organization representing the interests of all national outdoor associations in Europe; the European Federation of Sport Medicine Associations (EFSMA); and the European Network of Outdoor Sports (ENOS), which promotes the many benefits of outdoor and adventure sports. Among other initiatives, the partners in the House of Sport are organizing a conference in Brussels on Sept. 12-13, during the European Week of Sport, to promote physical activity as the medication of the future.
