The International Olympic Committee and the International Cycling Union have agreed to allow bicycles ridden in the Olympics to display brand logos on stems, handlebars, bar extensions and cranks, following requests by the World Federation of the Sporting Goods Industry (WFSGI) on behalf of the bicycle industry. The initial agreement a month earlier, in May 2012, allowed visible frame logos but did not foresee an exception for the headset, nor was there any definition for the crankset identification marks.
