The Mammut Sports Group raised its sales by 10.3 percent to 232.5 million Swiss francs (€190.8m-$244.9m) in 2012, with an increase of 8.4 percent in local currencies and excluding the effect of acquisitions, according to its parent company, Conzzeta Group. The highest growth rates were recorded in the Asian region and in the hardware product segment, where the company's avalanche protection systems were particularly popular with customers. Mammut sustained its robust performance in Germany and recorded strong sales growth in the rest of the eurozone. There was modest growth in the domestic Swiss market, thanks in part to a slowdown in the cross-border shopping trend. Conzzeta's consolidated revenues grew by only 3 percent to CHF1,165.5 million (€956.7m-$1,227.3m) in the past financial year, and the operating margin shrank to 4.8 percent from 5.4 percent, mainly due to a one-time allocation to the company's pension funds. The net profit declined by 11.0 percent to CHF46.3 million (€38.0m-$48.8m). More in The Outdoor Industry Compass.
