The Norwegian sporting goods industry may be heading for a very good year. According to the national sporting goods industry association, Sportsbransjen, the figures for the first half of 2014 show solid growth compared with the previous year. Despite a bad winter with a slight sales decline, spring sales were up, rising by 5.7 percent in the second quarter when compared to 2013. This led to growth of 2.5 percent for the first half of 2014.  Sportsbransjen believes that the momentum will continue for the full year. One of the growth drivers will be a jump in bicycle sales, with over 10,000 electrical bikes expected to be sold in 2014.
