The Runners Point group, the specialist German retailer, is preparing to open a dozen stores in Germany and Austria, after its sales increased by 12.9 percent to €166.2 million last year, Textilwirtschaft reports. This includes sales in all of the group's stores, including 25 independent franchises. Comparable store sales were up by 3.2 percent, and the business unit dealing with online sales more than doubled its turnover. The company's management said that it wanted to open 10 to 15 own stores this year, and roughly the same number of franchises. It currently runs 93 stores under the Runners Point banner, 65 Sidestep stores and another nine shops trading as Run². The group's licensee in Switzerland, which launched three stores in the country last year, wants to open another three in the first quarter of this year.
