The Ryder Cup now has a single, unified logo thanks to the efforts of Ryder Cup Europe and the PGA of America, with the help of Interbrand, the brand consulting agency. The new logo is intended to strengthen the alliance between the two organizing bodies of the foremost team golf competition. The Ryder Cup scheduled to be played out in Illinois in September 2012 will be the first to feature the new logo, which looks a bit like a coat of arms with hints of the American and EU flags, surrounding a golden trophy.
