The Scandinavian Outdoor Summit organized by the Scandinavian Outdoor Group (SOG) in Åre earlier this month turned into a packed and vibrant event, with nearly 300 industry people from 15 countries and an impressive line-up of speakers. They included Thomas Lipke, managing partner of Globetrotter, along with Frederic Hufkens, chief executive of the ABC group, and many other insightful speakers on subjects ranging from outdoor participation to the relevance of the internet for the outdoor business, issues with the supply chain, sustainability and the development of the Chinese market. Further details of some presentations are outlined in the latest issue of The Outdoor Industry Compass, and they may be ordered from the SOG. A board meeting of the organization, which celebrated its 10th anniversary, will be held shortly to discuss potential repeats.
