The Schwan-Stabilo Group, which bought Gonso in 2015, has decided to close the head office in Albstadt of this brand of cycling apparel, rainwear and functional underwear and to move its operations to the head office of Maier Sports in Kongen to develop synergies. Maier recorded double-digit growth in 2016, as compared to the previous year, but as usual, no precise figures could be obtained. Re-orders accounted for about 30 percent of the company's total revenues. The outdoor apparel segment represented 60 percent of sales and ski apparel the balance of 40 percent. Ten years ago, ski apparel accounted for 80 percent, while outdoor apparel only made up 20 percent of sales.
