The Sports Edit has secured £1 million (€1.14m-$1.37m) in a round of investment led by new backers including Justin King, Sue Watson and Ric Lewis, adding to existing investors. King is the former chief executive of Sainsbury's, while Watson is the owner of Lyle & Scott, and Lewis is the founder and chief executive of Tristan Capital Partners. It is the second investment round for the British activewear retailer since launching in August 2015. The Sports Edit has a multi-channel strategy, including a physical store in Chelsea, London, as well as an international e-commerce store. According to reports in Welltodo, the retailer will be opening a new flagship store at London's the Coal Drops Yard in King's Cross in October. Meanwhile, The Sports Edit saw its e-commerce sales increase by around 160 percent last year.
