The Stadil family climbed from No. 47 to No. 29 in the 2010 ranking of the wealthiest Danish families and individuals, with a fortune assessed at 2.5 billion Danish kronor (€335.7m-$453.5m), up by almost one billion kronor (€134.3m-$181.4m) last year. Thor Stadil, 66 years old and a former lawyer, is chairman of the Thornico group, which controls Hummel International and a host of other firms spanning several different sectors including food, real estate and shipping. Along with Christian Stadil, 39 and also an author of several books, Thor is part of the executive board and the board of directors of Thornico. Christian has served on the executive board of Hummel.
